    I have been privileged to have health coverage the majority of my life time but have no health plan now. Your clinic is exceptional for the the resources allotted. The staff is friendly and handles difficult situations' well. With all of the negativity surrounding certain ethnicity' and religions' I applaud their strength and commitment.

    This facility deserves any and all financial benefits available and I hope that I am able to assist them in their wellness efforts.

    During the summer of 2011, I started passing bloody stools. I ignored it since I have been out of work since February 2011 to take care of my elderly father who has many health issues at age 86.

    As the symptoms worsened, I called to see about a colonoscopy. The price was $1200 if I paid up front, or $1800 is I made payments. I reasoned that if there was nothing serious, I was out the $1800, but more importantly, if there was a severe health issue, I had no way to pursue treatment.So again, I did nothing.

    Finally a friend told me about We Care. I made an appointment at the Muslim Care Clinic here in Jacksonville . They sent me for blood work and a colonoscopy preformed at Baptist South by Dr. Cooper. They found cancer.

    Since then, I have been to several other doctors who are all partnering in my treatment and care. At every appointment, I have been treated with the utmost care and respect, and not like a charity case as I had imagined. Next week I start Chemotherapy and Radiation treatments.

    I want you and your staff to know that We Care has literally saved my life, and I can find no words to express the depth of my gratitude for what you have done for me and others like me. My father also asked me to express to you how much he appreciates your hard work and dedication to serving those unable to get the live giving medical attention they need but cannot afford.

    I just want to tell you how truly grateful I am for all of the medical care you have provided over the past five months. Every time I come into the clinic, I am greeted with professionalism, and have even acquired some hearty laughs during my exams. Tonight, you submitted a referral to the Volunteers in America Clinic for rheumatology. I am sitting in my living room with tears in my eyes. My diagnosis was made one year ago, and I have only been seen one time since that initial diagnosis; never thought the day would come where I would actually begin to receive treatment, let alone medications to make the symptoms manageable.

    Thank you for all the work your dedicated staff of volunteers performs each week. You have made a difference in my life and I will always be appreciative!

  • I would like to let everyone at the clinic know that you have saved my life! I have heart disease and can't get insurance. I was given your number last year after being in the hospital with chest pain. All that cleared up and I was healthy (as well as I could be). Got a good bill of health and went home happy and secure in the knowledge that I am being taken care of.

    This year I received a call from you to see the cardiologist, I'm having no pain, no distress, little short of breath but I'm overweight so it goes. I was sent to Baptist Beaches for a echo and stress test. Well I was admitted the same day and a stint was put in the next morning, opening a vein that was 90% occluded. Saved my life!!

    If volunteering every gets to be too much and you want stop just remember you are making a world of difference to the people you serve. You may not know the gratitude people have for you but it's there.
